*Աղօթք վասն զաւակ ծնութեան:

Prayer for childbirth.

Նայեա՛ աղաչանս ծառայի քո և աղախ­նոյ՝ և տուր նոցա զաւակ: զի որպէս հաճ­եցար աղաչ­անս աննայի և ետուր նմա զաւակ՝ զմեծն Սամ­ուէլ: և եղիս­աբեթին ետուր զաւակ՝ զմկր­տիչն Յով­հաննէս: և յովա­կիմայ և աննայի ետուր զաւակ՝ զՄարիամ աստ­ուած­ածինն և որպէս բժշ­կեցեր զջուրն առ եղիսէիւ մարգ­արէիւ, և ետուր զաւակ յեր­կրին այն: *Եւ արդ բարե­խօս­ու­թեամբ սոցին տուր զաւակ ծառ­այիս աստ­ուծոյ:

Consider the entreaties of your servant and maidservant, and give them a child; for as you were pleased [by] the entreaties of Anna and gave her a child, the great Samuel; and gave Eliza­beth a child, John the Bap­tist; and gave Joachim and Anna a child, Mary the Bearer of God; and as you healed the water in the time of Elisha the Prophet, and gave a child to that land; so also now, through the intercession of these same ones, give a child to this servant of God.

*Որպէս աչք ծառայի ՚ի ձեռն տեառն իւրոյ. և որպէս աչք աղ­ախ­նոյ ՚ի ձեռն տիկ­նոջ իւրոյ: *Այն­պէս են աչք մեր առ քեզ տէր աստ­ուած մեր, մինչև ող­որմ­եսցիս ՚ի վերայ մեր:

As the eyes of a servant [are] upon the hand of his lord, and as the eyes of a maidservant [are] upon the hand of her lady, so our eyes are to you, O Lord our God, until you have mercy on us. (Psa. 123:2 (122:2 lxx).)

Ամէն ամէն ասեմ ձեզ՝ զի լաս­ջիք և ողբաս­ջիք. և աշխարհ խընդ­ասցէ: *Դուք տրտ­մես­ջիք՝ այլ տրտ­մու­թիւնն ձեր յուր­ախ­ու­թիւն եղիցի: *Կին յոր­ժամ ծնան­իցի տրտ­մու­թիւն է նմա՝ զի հաս­եալ է ժամ նորա. այլ յոր­ժամ ծնցի զման­ուկն ո՛չ ևս յիշէ զնեղ­ու­թիւնն վասն խնդ­ու­թեան՝ զի ծնաւ մարդ յաշխար:

Truly, truly, I say to you, that you will weep and lament, and the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be [turned] into joy. A woman when she gives birth has sorrow, for her hour has come; but when she shall have given birth to the infant, she will no longer remember the anguish, on account of the joy that a human being has been born in the world. (John 16:20–21.)
